- Se valoró con 1 de 5por Pablo Vieira, hace 2 añosIt won't change my bookmarks favicon. What is a "URL pattern"? The URL itself definitely doesn't work. EDIT: If the extension might not work with bookmarks favicons, what's the purpose? Where is it supposed to work then?

I noticed that Firefox sync did not sync my Favicon Switcher settings to a new PC, is there a way to transfer my settings, or plans to make it work with sync or to include an export/import feature? Thanks!

- Se valoró con 5 de 5por foxpup, hace 4 añosIt does it's job very nicely except when I try to do wierd things like go to ip addressed sites. If I have locations like 192.168.1.10 and 192.168.1.11 but also define an icon for 192.168.1.1 the ..1.1 icon gets applied to all three sites. I suppose I could just name everything in the local dns (or hosts file) and use names instead but this limitation seems quirky. :-)
The solution I ended up using was to define full ip and port for all sites that stand a chance of colliding. For instance defineing 192.168.1.1:80 keeps it from fighting with 192.168.1.1*:* so I'm golden now that I understand the landscape of the quirks. :-) My guess is the software does a simple search for each expression across all the entries and goes with the first one it matches up with regardless of whether other elements are present in the address. :-) - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Mofiac, hace 4 años

- Se valoró con 3 de 5por wilfi, hace 4 añosNice add-on, easy to use. Unfortunately does not work properly on all url patterns. Some URL patterns will be truncated. This issue does not base on very long url patterns but possibly on special characters like & / = which will truncate subsequent letters.

是非とも末永く更新して頂けると嬉しく思います。 - Se valoró con 3 de 5por SSR, hace 4 añostesting: from 10 bookmarks which I tried it only changed 1 favicon in main bookmarks panel but on the TABs it is displayed properly with changed favicons. It is nice simple and easy to use favicon add-on.
Unfortunately I`ve never found 100% working favicon changer/manager yet so to be honest I would prefer to have it as built-in feature of the firefox even though I know it is not the main focus of this browser. Anyway keep up the good work, I hope after some tuning it will work better for everyone, cheers
edit: I`ve seen dev response in the comments that "The current webextension api doesn't allow changing favicons for bookmarks" but imho the best use of favicons is to create bookmark panel with icons only (favicon on the TAB is not so important for me for example). - Se valoró con 4 de 5por Zodiiak, hace 4 añosIt's clean, simple, and does what it says on the tin. Since changing bookmark favicons seems to be impossible, the next thing I'd love to see added is a way to overwrite existing favicon replacements. This is a minor issue, but deleting a favicon and adding a new one is a bit tedious.

publicado el hace 4 añosThanks! Actually, if you click the favicon, I think you can replace it with a new one, Doesn't it work? - Se valoró con 4 de 5por Usuario de Firefox 16758997, hace 4 añosNice tool! - Instead of uploading an image, optional, what do think about the possibility of setting an alternative url as a favicon-resource ("redirecting")? I'm thinking of an often occuring problem of having a bookmark to a login-site subpage without a favicon, though the main url of the page have one. Also in this way the favicon would always be up to date. - Beside that, creating a backup-file per click with all url patterns and icons would be great (i.e. if you have to reinstall system or something like that). THANKS!
- Se valoró con 3 de 5por Sam, hace 4 añosI like this extension but I am unable to change a favicon once I've set it for the first time. The only way to reset the favicon in order to change it again would be to delete the favicons.sqlite file from C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\*file.default*
I found the workaround but it is annoying the extension itself can't overwrite a favicon it has set.Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 4 añosThanks for point it out, let me try to figure something here... - Se valoró con 4 de 5por andus.andre, hace 5 añosIt's the best so far. Neat and simple. Some of the local share icons update, some don't but I'm pushing the envelope I guess (ie 192.168.1.25 etc). The summary states very clearly that the dB is stored locally, but it would be so awesome to have this update across all my PC's that use the same sign in profile. In other words Sync Now with FF account. Otherwise GREAT.
- Se valoró con 5 de 5por Darciana, hace 5 añosPreviously it was possible to assign a favicon to all of your bookmarks, but that favicon would only show up on a tab for exactly that URL. The moment you started browsing the bookmarked site, let's say example.com to example.com/whoops/, it reverted back to the original. At least that's how it was for me with 3 different add-ons.
Now, with this extension, most bookmarks don't accept custom favicons (which I know is due to Firefox's limitations), but they do show in tabs even when I browse the site. Subdomains need extra favicons.
It seems Firefox users sadly can't have custom favicons for both bookmarks and tabs. The way it is now, Favicon switcher does a great job.
One suggestion, though: Please enlarge the add-on window just a tiny bit. Right now, I have to hover over URLs to identify them. With 100+ custom favicons, that can get a bit tiresome.
