por ononoma, hace 8 añosDear Developer,
Thanks for all your hard work. This extension has been great!
As Mozilla seems to be making future development/updates of really great extensions “precarious” I wanted to find out if this update will be problematic or breakdown in the future? In other words should I stay where I’m at?
I’m currently using ver. 2.48. Everything is working, including location. I’ve disabled auto updates because new FF compliance's have already broken a few extensions (or will cause breakdown in the future). The first example of this coming to mind is/was X-Notifier. The last two versions are FF compliant, but don’t function. They…. suck. Not the developers fault, he warned months ago this would happen with Moz changing policies and updates. Yet everyone initially screamed at him when it broke down. There was a temporarily a work around, rolling back 2 versions. This made everything work again, but then with another FF update, even the legacy version only partly works.
So In regards to your extension, would you recommend updating to the latest version, or stay with the previous one which I’m running?
My Machine; Window 7 64 bit, latest FF 64 bit version for windows.
One more issue, and if you don’t have time for this one no problem.
I’ve read that if users install FF 52 ESR (I’m not sure what it is and if it’s secure), all legacy versions will work. Wouldn’t using a legacy version of FF, as well as extension present a security risk?
This really sucks for FF developers and users. I really hate Chrome, it’s heavy on resources, super proprietary, nosy and intrusive as hell. I have no idea why Moz is killing the best part of FF, the extensions. Especially security and utilities extensions. The other stuff I could care less.
Also, if Moz is going to make life difficult to impossible (depending on which developer you’re talking to, and their extension) for developers, why don’t you all go to Opera? I’m betting a lot of people would follow.
It’s my second choice browser, and although it’s Chromium based, it’s lightweight and even has a VPN built in. But they have mostly lame apps.
You’re opinion/feedback on this whole Moz turning FF into Chrome and how to proceed would be appreciated!
Thanks for every thing!

This was the main feature of this add-on. Without it, I'm not sure I see much point in it. Re-enable the feature and just put up a warning that turning it on may cause issues with some sites.
Also., where does the weather forecast even show now? I can't find it anywhere.Respuesta del desarrollador

It is the old school type of weather that is still outperform all the new weather extension an app
I really missed something from this extension and is the ability to see it from the lower right of my screen and even the upper right. Just with pass the mouse over you can see the whole week weather forecast and the past mouse over the map and big size radar appear.
Anyway, I'm happy to use the extension and congratulations to give the world a excellence extension. - Se valoró con 4 de 5por Gabohar, hace 7 díasThanks for update this excellent add-on, is a MUST for Firefox 😀

- Se valoró con 1 de 5por Farrah, hace 9 díasNO HORIZONTAL BAR, NO INSTALL FOR ME!! I only used this add on so I had the bar to just glance at without leaving what I'm doing to click on something. And hover my mouse over the radar to bring it up. It was awesome. It NEVER messed up any webpages. Give us a way to use the last version because this is no good and I won't use it.
- Se valoró con 1 de 5por Us2inVa2, hace 11 díasIt's not functional after the update. Wish I'd have been able to prevent it updating now. Not appearing in bottom right hand corner, really really need it back working and wish i knew of how to install an older version to get it back. This addon as it WAS, is vital for me in my life, for many reasons. Please make it work right.

This was breaking many websites, including VirusTotal.
I might bring back Forecastbar in future versions when I find a solution that works for everyone, including the moderators. - Se valoró con 1 de 5por dimelis, hace 21 días
- Se valoró con 5 de 5por BeeB, hace 25 díasThere is a version 4.25 and a 4.26 version floating around on the web. I had a really hard time to find the XPI file to download. Both versions work perfectly. My 1st PC updated to 4.26 automatically, i had this installed for quite some time. I did a fresh install of firefox on the 2nd PC and ran into problems with version 4.12 as it would not load the maps. I installed 4.25 file and it worked perfect.
- Se valoró con 4 de 5por cr0wgrrl, hace 2 mesesThis is still the best weather add-on. The current version is NOT corrupt - it just doesn't work because it has not been signed (and the creator lives in the Ukraine, so... *fingers crossed*). Thankfully, the folks in the support forums have figured out how to get it to load. It's still hands-down better than the next most popular option, so I highly recommend checking out the forums and installing it.

As has been posted, the key is to export all of your current settings to a text file using the button at the bottom of the Options section titled "Save Settings".
Then, open that saved text file and go to the line that begins with "Locations list". For your primary location, make sure the city ID, latitude and longitude are all correct. If some other location is there, change the text to your city name and city ID. The city ID is found by opening the Accuweather web page for your location and then looking at the URL for that page. The 6 or 7 digit number for that web page is the city ID for that location. Copy it and paste it into the saved text file on the Locations list instead of any other city ID you find there. Then search the web for the latitude and longitude of your primary location and paste those into the same line instead of any other latitude and longitude you find there. Check the post in this thread dated February 25, 2024 by @Drengelus describing how to get your city ID.
If you want to add a second location, then put a comma after the information for your primary location (just before the ] bracket) and add all of the same text and information that is contained for your primary location with the city name, city ID, latitude and longitude for your secondary location. Check the post in this thread dated April 7, 2025 by @ST Dog for where to place this text in the Locations list line of the settings file.
When you have done this for all locations you desire to add, then save the file. Import this settings file back into ForecastFox using the Load Settings button at the end of the Options section.
Everything should then work, including the ability to switch between your primary and secondary locations. If you want to add additional locations, you will have to add them manually in the same way to the Location line of the exported settings file and then re-import. The graphical interface method of adding additional locations still does not work. - Se valoró con 1 de 5por Jerry44939, hace 4 mesesThis was my favorite --but for about a year now I cannot change the area from New York
