por Zarathustra420, hace 4 añosMy experience with this add-on is horrible. When I first started the add-on, it went to settings. For some strange reason, the developer makes it incredibly difficult to GET BACK TO THE SETTINGS. My new tab goes to either a blank page or the firefox homepage. In firefox settings, the new tab area says that it is controlled by this add-on (new tab override). (I have everything else correct, "custom url" and "new tab override" in the appropriate places.) Unfortunately, the only way to change the new tab page is to get back to settings. THEY SAY all you have to do is press Shift + F12 to get to settings. That couldn't be less true, at least for me. It goes to the standard F12 html debug window. Then they say that, "it is also possible to open the settings interface by entering newtab settings in the address bar or from the menu entry in the tools menu). I was able to do that once, then it disappeared! You'd think that he would have a link to get to settings or there would be an easy way to change this SINCE IT'S THE ENTIRE PURPOSE OF THE ADD-ON. Very frustrating. I see why only 78,000 people could stick with it. When it works, it's great. Problem is: it only works when you first set it up. There isn't any new tab icon anymore, I have no idea why it disappeared. It's probably Norton or something, I have no idea. It's quite frustrating. Avoid the frustration--that's my advice. Oh yeah, the icon on the taskbar USED TO ALLOW ACCESS. It disappeared, too. It's glitchy as heck and not worth the trouble. Avoid.

Hello, i have a suggestion
Some users like me press ctrl+T and fastly type the site/search that we want to enter in the new tab (sometimes we just want a new tab to search something, not always the defined new tab one).
Since i started to use the extension i had to adapt myself to press "ctrl+t" - "ctrl+a" and then type what i want to search. (so the search do not go like www.site.comSEARCH
Would be good if in the menu options had a check-box to press F6 or CTRL+L after ctrl+t and then backspace automatically.
For this situation i'm using a AutoHotKey script that does this everytime i press ctrl+t in a browser. But if the program had it pre configured would be good.

I am not sure if that is possible but I will investigate. - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Jonas, hace 2 mesesGreat extension. Does exactly what it is supposed to do without loads of unnecessary settings. I hope mozilla fixes the "select url"-issue.

- Se valoró con 3 de 5por Usuario de Firefox 18538818, hace 3 mesesIt worked for about 10 mins (with google.com as new page) and then is stopped, leaving me back in the FF default home page. Maybe they'll fix it, idk.
Edit: Didn't change anything on the system. I fiddled with it for quite some time after. Also asked ChatGPT, ruled out AdBlockers, still could not work it out. Sorry but this shouldn't take more then a few minutes to set up. May FF is blocking it in some way.Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 3 mesesI don't understand this poor rating. If the extension worked at first, then it can't be the extension's fault if it no longer works. You must have changed something on your system. The extension doesn't stop working on its own. - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Rudolf_Snail, hace 3 mesesDoes exactly what I expect it and want it to do — great extension.

edit :
go to the menu bar, click Tools
at the bottom of the list is "New Tab - Settings"
when I click on it, nothing happensRespuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 3 mesesThank you for the review. I can't see any broken settings link. Can you describe what you mean in more detail? - Se valoró con 5 de 5por sexipavel, hace 4 meses

I just want to start typing in the URL bar and currently it types before the current URL and doesn't replace it. I have to manually highlight the URL then start typing. Switching it to focus on the website is ok but it doesn't work with google to type a web address, it always just searches for it on google.

publicado el hace 3 mesesThank you for the review. Unfortunately, this is not technically possible for an extension. - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Cillu, hace 5 meses
