Privacy Policy — NoReel
Last updated: May 15, 2026
Overview
NoReel is a browser extension that hides specific UI elements on Instagram. This policy explains what data the extension does and does not collect.
Data We Collect
None.
NoReel does not collect, transmit, store remotely, or share any personal data, browsing history, or usage information.
Local Storage
The extension stores a single setting — your selected filter mode (off, no-reel, or no-reel-no-post) — locally on your device using the browser's built-in chrome.storage.sync API. This value:
- Never leaves your device in a way that is accessible to us
- Is synced across your own devices if you are signed into your browser (by the browser itself, not by us)
- Can be cleared at any time by removing the extension
Network Requests
NoReel makes no network requests of its own. It does not contact any external server, API, or analytics service.
Permissions
The extension requests the following browser permission:
| Permission | Why it is needed |
|------------|-----------------|
|
storage | To remember which filter mode you selected across page navigations |No other permissions are requested or used.
Third-Party Services
NoReel does not integrate with or send data to any third-party service.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes in the future, the updated version will be committed to this repository with a revised Last updated date.
