por consumerthinkercreator, hace 22 díasI made a account just to make a review, on my issue. (hopefully this extension gets better)
I like Proton a lot. Why? Because Proton is just a amazing company in general. Their VPN is one of the best, and their free VPN is the best non-paid VPN in the market.
However, I've had some problems with their VPN extension. I have limited freedom, I cannot enable the kill switch, change my VPN protocol to something like Stealth (that was created by Proton) to bypass VPN blocks and censorship.
On a heavily restricted, locked down WiFi network (I'm talking Amazon.com, Github.com, DuckDuckGo.com are all blocked and much more), the VPN extension is blocked despite me being signed in and it working on a hotspot and other networks without restrictions. I've used the VPN app with Stealth and it's worked fine on the network, but the extension doesn't work.
I hope that this extension improves in the future and addresses this issue. Thank you Proton.

Some public networks (e.g. in schools, hotels, airports, workplaces, etc.) tend to apply restrictions in order to prevent harmful activities and keep track of the traffic flowing. That said, the browser extension uses HTTPS. This is the only connection protocol supported by modern browsers. With that in mind, if you cannot connect using the extension, we suggest using the native Proton VPN app with the Stealth protocol, which was designed for this specific purpose.
