New and improved:

• Large files now work. The extension asks the node what it will accept and registers files up to 15 GB, with video and audio each handled on their own budget rather than one shared cap.
• A long upload no longer asks for your face or fingerprint a second time part way through. If an upload does fail, the fingerprint you already produced is kept, so you do not start over.
• Uploads are read from disk piece by piece instead of being held in memory, so a big file no longer slows the browser to a crawl. Every piece is confirmed stored before the upload is allowed to finish, and a piece that arrives damaged is reported at that piece rather than at the end.
• Video fingerprinting is substantially faster and steadier. Frames are decoded one at a time so a long video cannot exhaust memory, the work is spread across several background workers, and the panel shows the pace it is actually running at.
• Damaged, fragmented and partially downloaded video files now fingerprint instead of failing, including WebM and MKV.

Fixes:

• Removing an attached file now really removes it, and retrying a step really resumes from that step. A step that fails stops the flow there instead of letting the rest run on.
• An attachment is checked against the kind of slot it was dropped into before anything is processed, so a file in the wrong place is reported plainly rather than failing later for an unrelated reason.
• The Retry fingerprint button now appears only when a fingerprint has genuinely settled as missing, not while one is still being produced.
• Registering waits up to two minutes for the network to answer instead of giving up early, and the form locks while a registration is in flight so it cannot be submitted twice.
• The badge now reads "Protected by proof on TIP", and the network is named "DAG (TIP Network)" everywhere it appears.

New:

• Spread is now a platform you can register from. Open a post there and the panel appears the same way it does everywhere else, with the content types Spread actually deals in: a shared link with your own comment, an article, a video, audio, or a plain written post. Spread only opens to people who have proved they are human, so the link you register is never fetched and checked for you. Your signature and the content itself are what prove the post is yours.

Fixes:
- YouTube scan and loading issue
- A video fingerprint could be lost during registration. It now survives, and if it cannot be produced the registration stops and says so rather than quietly recording less than you expected.

- Discord is now a platform you can register from. Messages, threads and forum posts are all covered, with the content types Discord actually has rather than a generic post. A Discord message link only opens for people in that server, so the link is never checked for you; your signature and the content itself are what prove the post is yours.
- A link copied from a phone now works. Most apps hand you a short link rather than the web address of the post, and those short links were being rejected as a profile or a homepage. Every site the extension supports now accepts its own share link, including the news publishers.
- Every screen that gives you a Content ID now has a "View all my content" button, so you can get to everything you have registered without hunting for it. In the toolbar window it switches straight to your list; from a page it opens your list in a new tab. It leaves the Content ID on screen, so you can go and look and come back to copy it.
- Registering a video now shows real progress, frame by frame, instead of a spinner that tells you nothing. Each registration tracks its own progress, so two at once no longer report over each other.

Fixes:

• A post can carry more than one image again, on all three places you can register from. Adding a second image could previously fail outright, and the extra images could lose the fingerprint that lets a copy of your image be recognised later.
• Video is now sampled one frame per second, matching the website, and a blank frame is never used. A video whose opening frames are dark could otherwise be fingerprinted from nothing.

New and improved:

• The popup opens roughly twice as fast. A cold open went from about half a second to a quarter, and stays quick on a slow connection.

Fixes:

• On Firefox, attaching and signing media from the in-page panel works again.
• Media that has not finished processing can no longer be registered, so a record is never created against an incomplete file.
• A LinkedIn comment's badge is now matched against the comment's own link rather than only the post it replies to, so a comment you registered is confirmed as that comment.

• On LinkedIn, a comment's badge now stays beside the commenter's name at the top of the comment. On comments that mention other people it could attach to a name inside the comment text, which read as crediting the wrong person. A post's byline now wins over any name mentioned in the post body.
• One registration can now badge both a post and that post's own comment, instead of only the first one found.
• Register another now clears every field on all three surfaces, so the next registration no longer starts with stale text.
• Redesigned the text badge shown after registering, with the verification link on its own line.
• A CTID pasted while you are still editing now shows its badge immediately, and busy feeds can no longer starve the page scan.

Improved:

Registering on Instagram now points out that Instagram never shows a link preview (caption links are not even clickable there), and highlights the text badge to paste into your caption, the same way YouTube registrations already do.

Fixes:

A CTID added to a post you had already been editing now shows its badge immediately. Editors update text in place, and the extension only noticed brand-new content, so a CTID pasted after a few seconds of editing was never seen at all: pasting it as the very first thing worked, pasting it after writing did not.
Badges no longer take a long time to appear on busy pages, most visibly on X. The extension used to wait for the page to go quiet before scanning, and X never goes quiet (view counts and timers update constantly), so the wait could stretch indefinitely. A scan is now guaranteed at most two seconds after the last one, and the moment a CTID itself appears in any form the badge is placed immediately.

WHAT CHANGED IN THIS VERSION (2.9.7)
1. Fixed the "View Trust Badge" tab, which had never worked. Its only data source was a chrome.webRequest.onHeadersReceived listener, but this add-on does not request the webRequest permission, so that listener never registered and the tab always reported "No TIP data on this page" regardless of the page. Rather than adding the webRequest permission (which would prompt every existing user to re-accept permissions and install a passive listener on all URLs), the tab now performs a one-off, user-initiated check of the current page. Details below.
2. Added a "My Content" tab to the popup listing the user's own ten most recent registrations.
No new permissions were added in this version. The permission set is unchanged from the previously reviewed version.

v2.9.3: Fixes badges on Firefox and LinkedIn, stops them flickering, and clearly marks a badge pasted on the wrong post.

Fixes:

• Verified badges are far more stable as you scroll and as feeds refresh. A badge that is already in the right place is left alone, and each badge now has a single owner, so badges no longer jump between posts.
• On LinkedIn, a badge no longer lands inside the Like and Comment row and squeezes it. A post registered by its Share link is now matched, and cards in your profile Activity feed now show their badge.
• On X, posting a new comment no longer moves a post's badge onto the wrong item, and a comment hidden behind "Show more" now gets its badge without needing to be expanded first.
• On Instagram, a reel's badge no longer follows the scroll onto someone else's reel.
• Content registered without a link no longer shows as unregistered, and it now resolves without a page reload.
• Fixed a case where stale page data could verify a pasted CTID against the wrong post.

• You can now register your comments and replies. Pick "Comment / Reply" on any platform, paste the link of the post you replied to, and your comment text gets its own signed, permanent record. Where a platform gives comments their own link you can add it too, or later via Manage links.
• Comments get the same protections as posts: links checked as you type, a minimum comment length, an optional image attachment, and a review step before signing that shows the post you replied to (it cannot be changed afterwards).
• Where a platform gives comments no link of their own (most do not), the extension says so up front and never asks you to add a link that cannot exist.
• After registering, the extension now offers the three ways to attach your verification link (before posting, by editing, or as a reply under your own post) instead of guessing which applies to you.
• Added Rooverse (web.rooverse.app): register posts, images, multiple images, videos, and replies, and see verified badges on Rooverse posts whose first comment carries a CTID link.
• The Settings page no longer opens the URL help panel while you are typing a link.

• You can now edit the links on content you have already registered. Open "Manage links" from My Content or the registration success screen to add, remove, or reorder a record's post URLs.
