Overview
The Omni browser extension is a companion tool for the Omni web translator service available at https://readomni.com. This extension assists with web page content extraction for translation purposes.

Data Handling
This extension handles the following types of data only when you explicitly request it through the Omni web app:
1. Web History
The extension accesses URLs you request to translate
It tracks page titles to detect loading states (e.g., Cloudflare challenges)
This data is processed locally and immediately discarded after content extraction
2. Website Content
The extension extracts HTML content, text, and page structure from websites you choose to translate
Removes images, scripts, styles, and other non-textual elements during extraction
This content is returned to your Omni app session for translation

Important Declarations
Your data is:
✅ Not being sold to third parties, outside of the approved use cases
✅ Not being used or transferred for purposes that are unrelated to the item's core functionality (web content extraction for translation)
✅ Not being used or transferred to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes

No Data Collection or Storage
We do not:
Store your browsing history
Collect or retain website content after processing
Track your activity across websites
Use analytics or tracking services
Store cookies or user preferences

How the Extension Works
The extension only activates when requested through app.readomni.com:
Opens requested web pages in temporary popup windows
Extracts text content from those pages
Returns the content to your Omni app for translation
Immediately closes temporary windows and discards all data

Permissions Required
Tabs: Create and manage temporary popup windows for content extraction
Scripting: Extract page content from websites you request to translate
Host Permissions (https:///, http:///): Access any website you choose to translate

The Omni web application at app.readomni.com
Websites you explicitly request to translate
