AI Page Translator brings the power of cutting-edge AI models to your browser, letting you translate entire web pages with a single click.

Unlike traditional machine translation, this extension uses large language models such as Gemini, GPT, Claude, and Llama to produce fluent, context-aware translations that preserve the meaning, tone, and formatting of the original content.
Key Features

One-click full-page translation — translate every visible text element on a page while preserving layout, links, and HTML structure.

Selection translation — highlight any text and get an instant translation in a popup, or right-click and choose "Translate selection" from the context menu.

Multiple AI models — choose from a variety of models including Gemini 3 Flash, GPT-5, Claude 4.5, and many more via OpenRouter. You can also search and add any model available on OpenRouter directly from the extension settings.

13 target languages — Russian, English, German, French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Italian, Turkish, Arabic, and Ukrainian.

Instant original restore — revert the page to its original language at any time with one click, no reload needed.

Translation cache — previously translated pages are cached and automatically restored on revisit, saving time and API costs. Manage and delete cached translations from the built-in cache panel.

Cost estimation — before translating large pages, the extension shows an estimated token count and cost so you stay in control of your spending.

Custom system prompt — fine-tune how the AI translates by editing the system prompt in the advanced settings.

Disable reasoning mode — save tokens on reasoning-capable models (GPT-5, Gemini, Grok) by turning off their thinking mode.

Bilingual UI — the extension interface is available in both Russian and English.

Auto-save settings — your API key, selected model, language, and all preferences are saved automatically across sessions.

Real-time progress — a floating overlay shows translation progress (e.g. "5 / 12 blocks") so you always know what's happening.

Privacy-first — your API key is stored locally in your browser. No data is sent anywhere except directly to the OpenRouter API for translation.

Paste your API key, pick a model and target language

Hit "Translate page" and enjoy!


Requirements

An OpenRouter API key (free tier available). The extension does not include its own API — it acts as a client for OpenRouter, giving you the freedom to choose any model and pay only for what you use.
