Appears to use translate.google.com to provide the service, and the new one on me is that extensions apparently can't block other extensions' requests, since umatrix, ublock, etc can be set to block google, and Rethink still shows FF making attempts. So, it basically reports your browsing to Google...that makes it intentionally spyware in my book. FF's own builtin "Read Aloud" will have to suffice atm.

Useful and Effective
-This tool is by far the most useful add-on I have on my Firefox. It allows me to quickly listen to wiki pages and Comments on videos without having to look at the text. I also enjoy the feature to add languages. Allowing me to Listen to Dutch pages and stories as well.
-I would suggest maybe a short tutorial video or a Q&A page on how to maximize the usefulness of this tool as many might have over looked features of this add-on. Such as Tutorial on alternate language support and adding voices as well as Tutorial on speed and pitch options.
-Currently Working with Firefox 145.0 (64-bit). Win10 Pro. Version 22H2.

The best option currently since there's no annoying ads and extremely light. Would be great if it had a pop-out functionality. Keyboard shortcuts are sufficient though.

논문pdf 읽을때 사용하고 있음. 도움 많이되고 있고, edge 의 소리내어읽기보다 사용하기 편하다고 생각함. 발음이 너무 tts 스럽지만 무료인거 고려하면 충분하다고 봄.

It's a quite good tool. It allows to listen article or web. Is is especially good when walking or have something other to do (like dish, laundry...). The voice synthesis is sometimes weird which is rather an issue of selected TTS engine than extension itself.
The most annoying flaw is loosing position in a long text when paused or internet signal lost. This mean manually locate part of text where to continue. Any search function or automatic bookmark insertion would be very useful.

read aloud is a good extension but the robotic voice sucks

Read Aloud has been great, but recently (about 20/10/25) the usual English options all got replaced by a lower quality robotic voice. And while Piper is an option and was recommended, none of the options were suitable for me now matched the higher quality reading of the voice I was familiar with. Please can this be undone? This extension is near unusable for me. I just wish to give my user experience on these voices
