Funktionierte mal ganz gut im Firefox -Browser, leider seit geraumer Zeit nicht mehr für alle Seiten.
Ich muss den DarkReader für manche Seiten Ständig deaktivieren, dann die Seite neu Laden und wieder aktivieren, so das die Bilder wieder alle angezeigt werden bei der Dynamit-Einstellung.
Die Filter+ Einstellung hat für mich keine schöne "Farbgestaltung".

This addon is a test of frustration. Half the time it doesn't work properly. Either it sets dark theme during the day or fails to set it after sunset. I tried letting it follow the device theme and the location coordinates, and in both cases the problem persists. I don't understand why I constantly find myself manually disabling/enabling the dark theme. It used to be way better.

I really wish this worked better, so many sites including this one still have a glaring white background and no settings seem to make any difference. sites it does work it inverts images which is largely useless especially when it makes dark images bright more often than bright images dark

Leider funktioniert der dark reader nicht richtig, in fennec , Android Pie. Einmal kann ich das Farbschema / Theme umschalten, aber wenn ich browsertab umschalte, oder eine Seite neu lade, ist die Seite nicht mehr im dark oder welch auch anderem Theme.
Wenn ich dann die dark reader-Einstellungen laden will, gibt es sinngemäß "Einstellungen werden geladen, bitte warten, aber passiert nichts.
Einzig in den AddOn Einstellungen von fennec kann ich den dark reader deaktivieren.

Just too slow, too much delay. Not worth it overall.

Change colors pretty well, but it causes a lot of pages to load very slowly, in stages, and in the meantime sometimes it'll be half dark, half white, stark eye-straining contrast.

well it works, but does not work as i need it to. i want it to be off and only toggle on for specific pages, not HAVE to be on all time for all pages just to toggle it off again for all the pages... just for the sake of having a few pages in dark mode. and it slows down the browser a lot on my low-end notebook. the devs should should check out how this extension is really annoying on different artists bandcamp pages. i listen to a lot of music from there and have to toggle off for pretty much every single page. i also have to say that i tried out about 2 years ago and still the same issue. just not for me...

these two days are not working

Love the idea but it's janky. Some sites look odd, which is fine as you can disable per site, but i currently can't as the shortcut isn't working and the menu has stopped working properly. Also causes a slight delay in loading sites that it's turned on for.

Excellent job of darkening. But, as I use it more and more, I find more I would like improved. Now 3 stars, 20251107.
1. I can not (afaik) darken as subsite, e.g. www.ebay.com/itm. I can only darken the entire domain.
2. I can not add ANY entries to the SITE LIST. All I can do is change the few that are there.
3. new (20111107): I just discovered that Dark Reader is darkening not only the web site, but Firefox's control areas. (The tab bar, the location bar and the menu bar, all of which I display.) This is HORRIBLE. It makes some fields in these very difficult to see. Sadly, all these fields are not named GUI controls, which may be the reason. Particularly annoying since I spend much time customizing ALL the colors in those fields with custom .CSS.
4. The addon is very difficult to manage. There are essentially 2 ways.
A. Left click its icon on the location bar. This opens a Dark Reader control panel.
1) I can't scroll it and can't seeall of it. I use a 150% Windows magnification level. that's probably why.
2) I have no idea what the SEPIA value does
3) THIS CONTROL PANEL DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO CONTROL ALL THE SETTINGS I CAN CHANGE.
B. Right click its icon and choose "manage extension"

Why do not A and B include all the same stuff?
5. The documentation for this addon is only fair. (Otherwise, I would have learned all the above. I READ DOCUMENTATION for almost everything)

6. Functionality: The addon does a POOR job of handling shades of gray (actually all colors, but this is the most common example since many websites lack interesting use of color.) It says it darkens bright colors. But, it should also then brighten light color to retain contrast. Webpage areas in shades of shades are often turned unreadable.

I would contribute, but find no way to do so. All I saw was a "buy it", but I don't even remember where I saw that.

the 3 rating is muchly due to the fact that some of these issues I have mentioned long, long ago.

I have two problems with Dark Reader. (1) When I change to a new tab or new content for a tab I typically get a bright white initial display before Dark Reader kicks in to style the new content, completely dazzling my dark-adapted eyes and obviating the point of the extension and (2) Critical content is often unreadable using Dark Reader. I'm guessing that the first problem is not easy to address given the self-imposed limitations of FF's new extension mechanism!

This add-on sometimes works like a charm, but often breaks webpages, making them unusable whether or not I toggle the add-on on or off entirely or for single websites. The add-on often makes necessary navigation text and links unreadable/invisible. Also, removing the add-on does not remove the CSS from these pages, I probably need to empty my caches.

I usually like to use this extension on Edge browser. However, it slows down Firefox, significantly. So, I disabled and stopped using it until developers fix it.

Usually good, but for some reason sometimes it becomes so heavy it crashes my whole laptop.

Plug-in crashes pretty frequently and breaks websites. Otherwise, when it works, it works great.

A good dark maker, unfortunately it is very slow. very very slow. Have to deinstall it.

Das Add-On sah erstmal super aus, hat aber nach ein paar Tagen den Browser stark ausgebremst und teilweise andere Funktionen blockiert, musste leider deinstallieren; schade.
