This is sold to Avast, a data harvesting company. I deleted it right after the announcement. Don't give Avast your data!

The developer just sold this extension to a huge data harvesting malware company. Don't install it now.

This is now owned by avast who are notorious for collecting user data.There are better alternatives out there please look for them.

Well, it was a good run before Avast bought it. Stay far, far away if you don't like your data being sold. Expect adware and scare-ware as well.

Best solution: add the idontcareaboutcookies filter list to uBlock Origin. No extension required.

Or you can use open-source alternatives:

2. CookieBlock

I would stay away from this addon now that it has been acquired by Avast.

A very good add-on unfortunately been acquired by Avast which is concerning for the apps future considering the track record.

Developer is a sellout, who does not care about his users or their privacy. Sad to see a good add-on be bought by a spyware company like Avast.

Used to be good, but the developer sold out to a data harvesting company. Dump this plugin if you still use it and use uBlock Origin's lists for removing cookie notifications instead.

This extension was acquired by Avast, a company I don't trust. With the permissions needed for this extension, I decide it is too dangerous. I disabled it for the moment and I'll see the new privacy policy.

Today the owner announced that the extension was sold to Avast: the notorious antivirus company that has been busted spying on users' online activity (check articles from PCMag, Vice, How-to-geek etc). I uninstalled it immediately.

This extension was recently acquired by Avast, a company known long for its abusive data collection policies. Heartbroken, I, have to let this useful extension go because I cannot support such bad corporate behavior and praying eyes on my browser activities. Today, I stop using this extension. But happy that the developer made some money, good luck but you won't be seeing me using this extension unless it went back to the way it was before. GG while it lasted.

I happy that you made some money after so many years working on this extension, but Avast has a long history of not respecting their user's privacy, including on extensions. As useful this is to me, I'm forced to stop using it.

In an acquisition context, even the most bland corporate PR statements will mention future privacy policy. The complete lack of any mention of data privacy in the developer's acquisition statement speaks volumes.
