mis en ligne : il y a 8 ansIn LeechBlock NG, the countdown timer is now shown in the corner of the web page itself. You can change the location in the general options. Very useful to stay focussed on your work.
Happy it is back in the lasest Firefox version. I was wondering if it is suppossed to work in Firefox for Android as well? I tried to install the add on, and although the add on is running, the indicated websites are not blocked. Would be great to have it on Android as well :)!
Thanks!
UPDATE: Amazing, indeed it works in Android too. Love it!Réponse du développeur
mis en ligne : il y a 8 ansI made some tweaks in v0.5.1 -- should work on Android now.
Would love a feature to temporarily disable the app (for example; right click, deactivate for x minutes) since the sites I block are occasionally needed for work, and going into the add on menu is a bit tiresome.
Thanks a lot and keep up the great work!
- Noté 4 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 13489341 de Firefox, il y a 8 ansCan't I register a local page to "the page to show instead of these blocked sites"?
I entered the path of the page but it didn't work...
I entered like this "file:///G:/path/file.html" but nothing happened.
I understand! Thank you for your kindness!!Réponse du développeur
mis en ligne : il y a 8 ansI did some research and it looks like Firefox 57 won't allow extensions to open local files. :(

- Noté 5 sur 5par Naresh, il y a 8 ansThis extension is a complete lifesaver! Thanks a lot for all the effort you have put into this.
However, I have temporarily reduced a star in the rating because I noticed that your latest update requires permission to 'Download files and read & modify my download history' and I wasn't completely sure why that was needed. Can you please shed some light on this?
EDIT: Thanks a lot for the quick reply! That commit explains the changed permissions.Réponse du développeur
mis en ligne : il y a 8 ansHappy to explain. Access to the download manager was needed for the export options function (implemented in v0.4). Given the constraints of WebExtensions, the easiest way to deliver a file to the user is via downloads. You can confirm from the source code (available on GitHub) that this is the only use of the download manager. - Noté 1 sur 5par stefanf, il y a 8 ans
- Noté 5 sur 5par ikiam, il y a 8 ansThank you, One of my prefer addons, BUT please the feature putting a difficult challenge to enter to the options is important, otherwise it is difficult not to fall into the temptation (SOLVED)

I've been a happy user of LeechBlock for about six months, and the NG version arrived just in time for Firefox 57 to come out. James Anderson, you're making me more productive and a happier person because I'm less exposed to the never-ending flow of bad news and nonsense of mass media... the guilty, non-focused 5-minute attention span of sudden twitter feed wrath... which I now block for most of the day. Hurray! Instead I can focus on reading more indepth news at appropriate times.
The NG (NextGen) version takes advantage of WebExtension features by appropriately reporting which data it needs access to and control over. This is a huge step forwards. It also installs faster and options panel seems more responsive.
I installed it and it worked first time -- I configured it, and it triggered first time I tried visiting a blocked site... without having to restart Firefox!
A few users have started reviewing a work-in-progress and complaining about features that are being developed or have arrived shortly after. You people should participate in development on Github instead.

- Noté 5 sur 5par RandomEngy, il y a 8 ansThanks for updating it for Quantum! I tried a couple other focus blocker extensions and they are garbage compared to this one.
- Noté 3 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 13453540 de Firefox, il y a 8 ansThe new countdown timer is obnoxious and can't seem to be turned off. I don't need a countdown to the next time my filters are going to activate. I block all websites after a certain time of night and for this use case it's just an annoyance.

mis en ligne : il y a 8 ansThanks for the feedback. I will add an option to hide the timer in the next release. - Noté 4 sur 5par knightontherim, il y a 8 ansI've been using LeechBlock for years and I'm glad James has made it v57 compatible, but I really miss the access control tab. The lack of it really limits the functionality of the add-on. Nevertheless, this is the best program of its kind that I've ever found.

- Noté 5 sur 5par Pike, il y a 8 ansAbsolutely the best extension of its kind. I tried a lot of alternatives while waiting for the new WebExtensions version and none of them do what I want the way this one does. Easy to use and very customizable... works great! Huge props to the dev for porting it over to the new version.
