par Micro Mo, il y a 7 ansThis will get bumped to a 5 when you can tell us how to fix the context menu option from disappearing.
For the meantime, here are the short cut keys to do the same things:
To Play - Alt-P
To Stop - Alt-O
Go Forward - Alt-Period or "Alt-."
To Rewind - Alt-Comma or "Alt,"
If you should forget Alt-P - Click the button in the toolbar that looks like a megaphone, if it's playing, hit the stop button. Then click the gear button next to the play button. A larger "Options" box will open, at the top you will see "Edit shortcut keys" that will open a new tab with the short cut keys listed. Using Alt-P will speak what you highlighted. If you don't highlight anything, it reads the whole page I believe.
Oh and some might not know but the little gear button is also where you change the reading voice. I like the Amazon ones.
Hope this helps you folks out while we wait for the fix. Actually Alt-P might be easier to use than the context menu. If they made this option clearer, most people probably wouldn't care and again, I would bump my rating up to a 5, for the clarity.

Review added 2026-01-30 for Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS ; snap info firefox = 147.0.2-1 latest/stable - Noté 1 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 19710402 de Firefox, il y a un moisRouting you to the the Google TTS sales page and using the Demo box instead of hooking into the Google Cloud API is actually bananas. I can't believe that this thing still doesn't have proper voice fetching implementation after all these years.
- Noté 1 sur 5par RescuePaws, il y a 2 moisNot the best. Agree with other users that Edge is better for reading than this. Also I don't like that it automatically sets your setting to allow this developer access to ALL your data unless you change it but even then it piggies back off of google.translate. Also doesn't even read my full text book page just the title and then the page number. I don't like the reading in the extra window either. Idk why its a recommended extension.

- Noté 1 sur 5par Joshua Weiss, il y a 3 moisAppears to use translate.google.com to provide the service, and the new one on me is that extensions apparently can't block other extensions' requests, since umatrix, ublock, etc can be set to block google, and Rethink still shows FF making attempts. So, it basically reports your browsing to Google...that makes it intentionally spyware in my book. FF's own builtin "Read Aloud" will have to suffice atm.

-This tool is by far the most useful add-on I have on my Firefox. It allows me to quickly listen to wiki pages and Comments on videos without having to look at the text. I also enjoy the feature to add languages. Allowing me to Listen to Dutch pages and stories as well.
-I would suggest maybe a short tutorial video or a Q&A page on how to maximize the usefulness of this tool as many might have over looked features of this add-on. Such as Tutorial on alternate language support and adding voices as well as Tutorial on speed and pitch options.
