It recently had an update that requested "IP address and host name" which, as you might expect, triggered red alarms all over for someone who came from adblock plus (the sell-out adblock) and general paranoid internet-goer. The github page on it is very clear, though, and while I could choose to continue being paranoid that they're lying about it, I would rather choose to believe them instead and continue using what is single-handedly the best adblocker out there for web browsers.
I wish there was a more clear way for them to give this information to us before they received all of these reviews, because as it stands, we just get a little pop-up asking for more privileges and that makes people nervous (with good reason; I do not feel sorry for being suspicious of strangers).
Below is a link to the page they have provided if you want to take a look at the recent update, but it all seems above board. Keep in mind they already have the information people were worried about and these privileges are not related to that. If giving away that information worries you (for me it's more like having the rug pulled out from under me that worries me; we trust Google with how much information every day? And they're definitely selling that ****), don't use an adblocker extension.
