As of fall 2020, very alpha software. But i hope that, after years and years of naive and failed "sidebar chats", "linked data explorers" and similar, this is *the* software that we can standardize on to "take back the web"

    Excellent & promising extension.

    It should work out of the box with local in-browser storage of metadata, but it starts shpow its strength when index & localhost-server is started.

    But then, the bar is raided, because you need to install data-extractors from your various sites (twitter, DO, google) to feed this beast :-)
    And the procedure for taking control of https://github.com/karlicoss/HPI is not easy.

    I wish it had a section for android & how to install the server to a remote VM, and communicate through e.g. ssh-tunneling. Although i can install it on Firefox-nightly("fenix")[1] following the official-procedure for custom-collections[2], it's the server-part that's bugging me.

    Yeah, it's a cool idea! I guess an easy way to try it would be to use something like ngrok (https://ngrok.com), although would be nice to find an open source alternative. If you set something up, feel free to share (at least as a github issue), it would be very welcome!

    P.S (2020-11-26) I've just released a new update which allows the extension to work without the backend which should make it considerably simpler to try out (just need to install the extension).
