The marker feature in this addon is auxiliary, and was originally conceived purely to highlight text temporarily until the first page reload. After adding the ability to save markers for permanent use, I came to the conclusion that it would take much longer to fully implement the feature than expected - I had ideas to split the extension popup into two sections (settings and markers), show a bubble with the number of markers on the page when they were found, fix the incorrect marker recovery with large selections, and so on.

All of this would undoubtedly take over the development blanket, so I've decided to leave the feature as it is for now - with awkward management through settings and a few bugs. But I'm glad to hear that you found it useful! Perhaps over time I'll revise the feature in favor of deeper integration into the addon.

У меня была идея выделить часть настроек и показывать их только при выбранной галочке "Расширенные настройки", но затрудняюсь определить, какие настройки должны считаться расширенными и излишними для рядового пользователя.

As far as I remember, clipboard access is only used for text field panels, as fields on some websites don't support automatic pasting and require manual insertion of current clipboard in their HTML. So if you don't use it ('Buttons' > 'Use special panel for text fields'), everything should work just fine without this permission.

Perhaps I should make this one optional though.

It was the idea behind this extension from the very beginning — make something similar to the wonderful Opera pop up, but more customizable and accessible in any browser. In the process, I also came up with a few features that are not currently provided by the Opera panel, such as CSS color preview, live translation, 'Show on map' button and more.
