- Noté 4 sur 5par No_I_Am_Not_A_Bot_Shut_Up, il y a un anWorks MUCH better than Dictionary Anywhere, (which doesn't work at all), I can tell you that. It takes you to a different page but it works. The redirect is likely why this add on isn't more popular.
- Noté 5 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 17795909 de Firefox, il y a 2 ansI like this add-on for several reasons. It does not just provide a single cryptic definition of a word, but rather opens The Free Dictionary web page for that word. You then have access to all of the information for that word.
Also, you have immediate and direct access to the Thesaurus. Since it is activated by double clicking a word, you do have to be careful with those double clicks. - Noté 4 sur 5par FTodd1, il y a 3 ans
- Noté 2 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 15346968 de Firefox, il y a 4 ansI am going to save myself some typing by copying and pasting the 3-star review by active x:
"Great! It just works. However, I had to uninstall it because the 'double-click to lookup' feature cannot be disabled. I don't like it that it immediately works on my selected text when I would often be just double-clicking to select text to copy it.
"There's another extension named 'TheFreeDictionary.com Lookup' that works just like that. I was hoping to use the official one for being more trustworthy."
I agree, word for word, including recommending that other extension. Why? Because that one works just as well but allows one to use the right-click context menu instead.
Very short-sighted of Farlex to assume that one would only double-click a word or phrase on a web page for the purpose of looking it up on TFD. And, I mean every time, no exceptions, no options. This would have driven me nuts.
I am not as charitable as active x, however. Only two stars from me; it would have been one if I did not value TFD as highly as I do otherwise. - Noté 4 sur 5par Jim, il y a 4 ans

- Noté 5 sur 5par MaaT, il y a 5 ansThe new option for "Open on double click" is what I was waiting for a while now!

- Noté 4 sur 5par irwanwr, il y a 6 ansit works. but opens the website in new tab. not floating or bubble up window instead.
- Noté 3 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 14788714 de Firefox, il y a 7 ansIt sweeps me away from the page I am looking up the word in question. It could be a pop-up just above or beneath the word.
- Noté 5 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 14410927 de Firefox, il y a 7 ans5 stars for the Chrome version, 3 stars for Firefox. In Chrome, the definition appears above the queried word. In Firefox, double-clicking a word to get the definition sweeps you away to a brand new tab showing the word's definition on thefreedictionary.com, which is very disruptive. Perhaps I'm missing something. If I find a solution, I'll edit this.
