    At first, I thought the add-on wasn't working because the icon wasn't even active and couldn't be added to the toolbar.
    Then I noticed that an extra icon had appeared in the URL bar. It works there, but I can only download videos in 360 resolution! That's useless! Sorry... it needs a major overhaul! Very confusing! Why is there an extra icon in the URL bar and not via the actual add-on icon?!

    Hello,

    The extension operates using a tab action to display only the icon when needed. The 360p resolution is a limitation imposed by YouTube. Higher resolutions can be enabled through the extension settings, but without audio (due to YouTube's restrictions).

    When the pop-up is open, an external server attempts to download the video in 1080p, which I believe is a reasonable solution. A percentage indicator is shown, and if the download completes successfully, you can download the 1080p video for free, unlike other extensions.

    The option of merging video and audio to create higher-quality downloads was considered but discarded, as it would "overload" the browser. The goal was to keep the extension lightweight.

    Works but for most video sizes gives you separate video and audio files, which are a big hassle to merge.

    This is a limitation of youtube and not of the extension.
    1080p is sometimes available and does not require merging.

    !!! 작동하잖아? 왜 내 선택지에는 1080 360 오디오파일만 있는지는 모르겠지만(오디오는 다운실패함) 1080 다운 된다는 것만으로도 감격
    +고작 한달도 안돼서 다운 안되는 영상들이 많아짐... 360p는 필요 없다구요...ㅜㅜㅜ 다른 확장프로그램도 다운 안 되는 영상이 꽤 생기는 거 보면 꾸준히 잘 되는 거 찾는 게 어려운 것 같음...

    One of very few that actually still work. Video and audio need to be downloaded separately, but apart from that, all smooth. A nice-to-have feature would be if it used the user's existing YouTube login to try and access NSFW videos.

    PS: This morning, the download button did not appear in URL bar for some videos. This afternoon, there was already an update. With the update installed, the problem disappeared!!!Thank for your very good support!!

    For any issues, please contact us via email or Discord.
    This may be caused by incorrect detection of tab link changes since YouTube does not switch pages in a conventional way, which may cause problems.

    Upon installation, it uses your active login to automatically subscribe you to their YouTube channel without permission or prior disclosure. This has been reported to Mozilla.

    It works great when it works. 1080+ qualities always require 1-3 refreshes to get detected.

    When 1080p is possible, the icon changes.
    There's no need to open and close it several times, in fact when you open it it fetches the 1080p from outside youtube, it takes a little time if the server is available for it to process the request.

    (Youtube separates video and audio for formats above 1080p so there is no direct download, unless you decide via the extension settings to allow it so they are added in the drop-down menu)
