As of the time of 5/6/2024
This Addon seems to be working in filtering spam comments on youtube. Blocktube seems to no longer have this function and the last update was two months ago and Ublock origin hits the entire comments section instead of a specific comment. This addon has significantly improved my browsing experience and I would recommend this to anyone I talk to.

    I mean... it does what it says it does, but would be a lot better if the notice that it's blocked a video didn't INCLUDE the word it was blocked because of, IN BOLD PRINT. So... there's words I don't want to see/hear in videos... and you feel the need to ANNOUNCE the thing that I have specifically told you *I don't want to see*. See where I'm going with this? You could like, instead, say "Blocked due to your YTBlock preferences." That would be better.

    You can customize the overlay to not show the reason the video was blocked by going to the options page, go to "Overlays" on the left sidebar, then check "remove block reason". But the bold "BLOCKED" is not possible to remove for now. You can disable the entire overlay if you want by unchecking the "Show overlays" option. Thank you!

    It is a great extension and it does what it says but it really slows the browser down as to make it unusable.

    Blocks channels fine, but one weird thing I noticed is that when I open a new video, it will sometimes show the comment section for the last video.

    Works well and helps a lot, especially love the ability to set click based disabling. Would be nice, if there was a way to apply the blocking to just the video and not the recommended videos on the side, as it slows down the site, even if I have disabled the sidebar with Untrap.

    Banger extension. Actually smites all the clankers in youtube comments, which keep commenting same vile stuff under literally every comment on popular channels.

    It used to work, but since it has been left to rot for 4 months, it no longer functions. No UI elements pop up anymore on any page, nor does it actually block any videos. HOWEVER, back when this was working, it was perfect. If the dev sees this, PLEASE. PLEEAASSSEE. Update this extension. It was so useful when it worked.

    5 stars, because I think, this can be fixed.

    Version 5.13.1 (August 28, 2025):

    - On the main page no red X after the channel name and no entries in the menu.
    - But this works, when I open the video.
    - Blocked videos are listed on the main page without a blocking-overlay, however, on the video's page you get the blocking-overlay.
    - It seems that the blocking-overlay sometimes works on the main page as well.

    Thanks for all your hard work on this. I've been happy with this extension until now, but since the latest update, videos from channels I've blocked are showing up again. When I hover over a video and click the red block button, the channel gets added to the block list in the options, but it doesn't actually hide the videos. I've been using it with the overlays hidden, and it seems like the blocking only works properly when the overlays are shown.

    Doesn't seem to work in private windows any more.

    However the reason for 3 stars is that when a video/channel is blocked, you have to have the overlay enabled for it to actually be blocked. If I disable the overlay, then "blocked" videos/channels still appear in my suggestions. I just want them completely removed

    Sorry for incovenience, can you tell me which version is your YTBlock? Does it happen to all videos or only the ones in certain pages? Please let me know.

    Sadly doesn't seem to be working with the channel blocker anymore on the homepage :/ I've tried both using "@channelname" and even the link way doesn't seem to work either.
