The developer responded -immediately- with a fix which we really appreciate and were surprised by. They told us to go to enable a performance setting in the general tab, that only considers active tabs.
However, the fix didn't work. It made firefox a little more responsive, but in that we only had to wait one minute per interaction with the browser instead of three.

2 jierren lyn pleatstThe other thing you could try is increasing the value of the "Process tabs every __ second(s)" option. With 20,000 tabs open (!) there's going to have to be a trade-off somewhere.

Можно выставить как время блокировки (по дням, в час, в неделю итп) как и задать общий максимум времени на определенных сайтах и их дочерних страницах.
Из особо приятного - можно удобно прописать исключения. Нпр. поставить блок на ютуб и все ссылки с него, но исключение ваш любимый канал с йогой или аудиокнигами
