People are saying it doesn't change the page color but you can do that already by going to File > Page Setup and select a color. The contrast isn't great, but that is because it is sort of hard to change the icon colors, because they are SVG's. You would have to edit every single SVG file to my knowledge. You could probably have a JS file to cycle through all the icons, but I guess the creator of this didn't think of that. Overall a simple extension that gets the job done.

Does not look good. Contrast is very low, and the doc itself is still perfectly white- it is just the surrounding ui that changes.

the doc itself does not turn dark even when it's toggled, only the background and toolbar (if i'm just doing something wrong and it works for you please let me know how to fix it)

Didn't do anything, even after many refreshes and toggles of both options on the annoyingly minimalist (read: lacking in explanations) options menu.

Doesn't make the whole page dark, only the background and not the document. However, it is still easier on my eyes than the page being all white.

Doesn't affect the google docs home screen at all. Will turn the background of a document open for editing dark, but doesn't affect the document at all, not even when toggling dark mode off and on multiple times.
