Data Collection
LogTrunk Companion captures the following data from web pages you visit:
- Console logs: Messages logged via console.log, console.error, etc.
- Network requests: URLs, HTTP methods, status codes, and timing of fetch/XHR calls
- Exceptions: Uncaught JavaScript errors and unhandled promise rejections
- Performance metrics: Page load and resource timing data
- Page metadata: URL and title of the current page
Data Transmission
- All captured data is transmitted exclusively to localhost (your local machine)
- Data is sent to the LogTrunk desktop application running on your computer
- No data is ever sent to external servers, third parties, or the internet
- The extension only communicates with
localhostor127.0.0.1
Data Storage
- No data is stored by the extension beyond temporary in-memory buffering (typically < 1 second)
- Configuration settings (host, port, filters) are stored locally in browser storage
- All captured log data is immediately forwarded to the LogTrunk desktop app and discarded
Data Sharing
- We do not collect, share, or sell any user data
- No analytics, telemetry, or tracking of any kind
- No external network connections are made
Domain Filtering
- You control which websites are monitored using whitelist/blacklist filters
- By default, only localhost sites are captured
- You can add or remove domains at any time via the extension popup
Your Rights
- Disable the extension at any time to stop all data capture
- Configure filters to exclude specific websites or log types
- Uninstall the extension to remove all stored settings
