Generally excellent but just reporting that the last update a week or so ago is breaking many web sites and hanging Firefox downloading of content. I have tried disabling add-ons one by one and Ghostery is the culprit. Parts of pages (content files for frames, CSS, JS, etc) are being stopped (leaving the page incomplete or corrupt) but, if you reload (smetimes have to do this 2 or 3 times) they then often load. Other sites, not loading any trackers being stopped (so Ghostery reports clean) error with Ghostery enabled but load OK with it disabled. There is evidently some bug in the recent update, perhaps around the API with Firefox or timing? They all worked fine two weeks ago before the update with Ghostery enabled.

I used to like Ghostery, until it started using around 15% of one of my processors - I've disabled it now.

Basically useless. It can't preemptively prevent cookies from being set. You have to go to the site which of course instantly sets a bunch of cookies, and only THEN you can block the site's trackers. Which means that for every site that's new to Ghostery, you'll have to go in and manually delete the dozens of cookies that got set. It's a whole LOT of work compared to what it would be if you could preemptively block all trackers.

Note that I do have global blocking and block all turned on, they just don't seem to work right.

I am quite disappointed in the direction the creator has taken this extension.

After years of use, I will never use this again due to the many concerns their recent developments have raised. I will be very careful to not use anything created by them in the future.
