Privacy Policy — pingport Browser Extension

What data does this extension process?

The pingport Browser Extension is a companion tool for the pingport monitoring platform (https://pingport.app). It processes the following data:

Data stored locally (chrome.storage.local)

• API authentication tokens — used to authenticate with the pingport API on behalf of the user
• Website index — a cached list of website domains registered in the user's pingport account (domain, name, ID only)
• Extension settings — overlay position, sync interval, and display preferences

Data transmitted to pingport servers

• Authentication tokens — sent with every API request to https://pingport.app/api/* to verify the user's identity
• Website identifiers — when the user visits a website registered in their pingport account, the extension fetches monitoring data for that specific website from the pingport API
• User-created content — todos, notes, and maintenance windows created through the extension are sent to the pingport API and stored in the user's pingport account

What data does this extension NOT collect?

• The extension does not track or transmit general browsing history. URL matching happens entirely locally against a cached index of the user's own registered websites.
• The extension does not send data to any third parties. All communication is exclusively with pingport.app.
• The extension does not use analytics, tracking, or telemetry.
• The extension does not collect personal data beyond what is required for its functionality.

Who has access to the data?

All transmitted data is processed by pingport (operated by Maikel Szymanski, Germany) in accordance with the pingport Privacy Policy. Only the authenticated user and their team members (as configured in pingport) can access the data.

Data retention

Locally stored data (tokens, cached website index, settings) can be deleted at any time by removing the extension or clearing its storage. Server-side data is managed through the user's pingport account.
