    It's entirely functional, no clue what the other guy was talking about.
    Tested this with normal, shorts and live videos on both the youtube.com and youtu.be domains.

    Could you include some details? I just tried going to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ&si=random_tracking_value and it works as intended (ie. it removes si= tracking parameter).
