The "Auto Pause and Resume YouTube" extension, version 1.0, is designed to enhance the YouTube viewing experience by automatically pausing videos when you leave the page or tab and resuming them when you return. It requires permissions for tabs to detect when the user switches tabs and storage to save and retrieve user preferences. The content script (content.js) runs on YouTube pages to manage the video playback state, while the background script (background.js) listens for tab activity and sends messages to the content script to control playback.

Users can toggle the auto pause and resume functionality using the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+F, which is defined in the manifest. The extension also includes a popup interface (popup.html) for interacting with the extension. Icons for the extension are provided in 48px and 128px sizes. For Firefox, the extension uses the ID auto-pause-resume-youtube@rudraksh.dev.

The extension is intended to be lightweight and unobtrusive, ensuring it does not interfere with other browser activities or extensions. Future updates may include more customization options and support for additional video platforms, providing a more versatile and user-friendly experience.
