You can also manually add Brave search by going to search.brave.com, then right-clicking on the address, then choosing "add Brave search".

Personally downloaded and reviewed the source code then tested in browser. Works perfect and is safe! Literally just adds a search provider using the extension manifest, doesn't have scripts or anything else.
