This Firefox add-on works great! You just have to know how! After installing this "add-on" in Firefox, you visit the "GitHub directory" of the client, as it is described here in the description of this Firefox extension. One downloads the "Windows.zip", saves this to a place e.g. C:\Programs\JD-Client (This folder must be created) and copies the "content of the Windows.zip" into this directory! After a double click on the "install.bat" the cache and the cookies of the Firefox browser must be deleted!

Afterwards please restart the PC once! Since registry entries are created! In addition, under "Settings - Add-ons - Extensions" (the 3 dashes on the side, then on Add-ons) must be set in the settings of the JDownloader add-on still under permissions the small "switch"! ONLY THEN this works! And that excellent! If you rate this extension badly, you are most likely not using it correctly! Bad ratings due to user error find I honestly a horror! I see this (unfortunately yes really unfortunately!) Again and again and not only here!

I've set autostart downloads on extension settings but it doesn't work.

Works fairly well but I had to fix a few annoyances myself to make it better.

* Leftover files in download folder when using interrupt mode:

Modify worker.js line 299 to be ` chrome.downloads.cancel(...) ` instead of ` chrome.downloads.pause(...) `

* Referrer sometimes not getting passed to JD correctly (I think it's just flash/add interface that was incorrect)

Modify worker.js line 66, replacing ` chrome.runtime.getURL('') ` with ` d.referrer || '' `

* Package name not using the one from packagizer

It add a notification, a pop up page and, stop the download with out it now. Very annoying, removed

It used to work flawlessly but I cannot disable autostart anymore and having trouble with packagizer when links are sent to jdownloader.

First of all the Add-on works on Windows and Linux. While Windows doesn't need any special configuration, on Linux you need to extract and run a .sh, which is open source and does not need root access because it is installed in the user's directory, so I don't think it can cause any damage, that basically installs a bridge between Jdownloader and the browser. The add-on DOES work and is an excellent alternative to IDM for Linux users, it is not a virus.

I dare to say that jDownloader + Download with JDownloader is the only alternative in all Linux to IDM + IDM Integration Module, this extension deserves much more love sincerely.
