Politika privatnosti za Knockoff - Amazon Brand Filter
Knockoff has no accounts, no cookies, and no profiles, and collects nothing that identifies you. All brand appraisal runs locally in your browser; your settings and allow/blocklists stay in browser storage.
Every network request the extension makes:
- Brand list and config refresh. Roughly once a day it downloads an updated brand list and display settings from api.knockoff.co. A plain download, carrying no information about you or your browsing.
- Seller origin map (on by default, switchable in settings). To flag which country a seller ships from, it sends the seller IDs shown on listings you view. When you open a seller's own profile page, it sends the business-identity block Amazon already displays there to every shopper (registered name, address, phone, email, trade-register or VAT number, whether the address is marked home-based) plus the brands listed on that seller's storefront. Every field describes the seller, not you.
- Help pick US alternatives (on by default, switchable in settings). The one feature that sends a product rather than a seller, and the collection declared as "browsing activity": opening an Amazon product page sends that product's ASIN, title, brand, and the featured offer's seller, so we know which products people want US alternatives for. It is aggregated into a per-product view count — a stored row says "this product was viewed N times" and nothing else. No account, session, or IP address is stored beside it, so a product is never linked back to a person. Switch it off and nothing about the products you view is sent.
- Misclassification reports (user-initiated). Clicking "Real brand" or "Junk" on a badge sends the brand name, the verdict assigned, the product ASIN, the marketplace domain, and the extension version. That is the entire payload.
- Feedback (user-initiated). The panel's "Send feedback" form sends what you typed, the address of the page you were on (the form says so before you send), the marketplace domain, the extension version, and an email address only if you choose to leave one, used to reply to you and nothing else.
Never sent: your searches, your orders, the pages you visit (outside feedback you write yourself), or anything you type into a page.
Data is stored on our own servers. To rate-limit abuse the server keeps a salted hash of your IP address; the raw IP is never stored, and the hash is never stored beside a product. No data is ever sold or shared, and none is used for creditworthiness or any purpose unrelated to the extension's function. No tracking pixels, cross-site tracking, or fingerprinting in the extension.
