New review oct: So about a year ago this extension stopped working well but it did work just lots of lagging them in about 4 months they fixed it so I went back to using it. Well as of 10/15/2025 it does not work on youtube at all anymore. just video playback issues and nothing plays. I am getting sick of youtube anyway and every site wanting account and log ins I will probably just go back to pirating especially in the expensive and geriatric dictator run country why WOULD i EVEN TRUST MY DATA TO ANYONE

YEAR OLD REVEIW AS OF OCT2025:For a long time, this program worked REALLY well. Before switching to uBlock Origin, I was using Chrome with the Adblocker extension. However, when YouTube started targeting that extension, I moved to Firefox (non-Chromium-based) and was recommended uBlock Origin by many online reviews. It worked GREAT at first. Unfortunately, it seems like YouTube is now targeting uBlock Origin as well. YouTube has become very laggy in its response time, whether on the homepage with no video selected, or when opening a dropdown menu/settings. Even loading comments or interacting with the like button has become extremely slow. That being said, uBlock Origin is still doing its job by blocking ads, which is a positive.

Used to block ads on Facebook... no longer does.

It's not working on twitch as of 23/3/26. I get so many ads there for a long time now

Funktioniert seit heute auf YouTube nicht mehr. Werbung kommt trotzdem.

This crappy extension has caused so many problems for me, Ublock Origin keeps crashing Firefox. Please fix this issue.

Having hella problems with ublock today and last night (Firefox). Youtube ads rolling and normal ads displayed on right. Twitter not opening unless I disable adblock (inconsistent but not working with firefox shield OFF and ad block ON).

Super weird I thought this was what woulda happened if I had it in Chrome, lol. Maybe just something on my end tho?

Yeah, it's bricking my entire browser. Ads in every site. Closing browser and re opening makes every single site log me out when I literally havent had that happen since pre covid probably.

I have been forcibly logged out of Reddit, Youtube, Twitter. Probably every single streaming service.

Stopped working on YT which detects it as an unwanted adblocker and urges me to turn it off or it will block the player. It's a new feature introduced two weeks ago.

Used to be a great extension, but now there is a lot of content being missed: pop-ups, redirects, sponsored posts, etc. There are better options out there now.

It doesnt block the 40% of the time

The amount of issues I'm having is really annoying. I really can't recommend friends and family to use uBlock since they are not tech savvy and have no idea what to do when a website breaks because of it.

Recent update has broken many sites. For example, thegatewaypundit will not display disqus commenting with ublock enabled. Used to be a great blocker, now I need to find something else that doesn't break half the sites I visit. Also there is no easy way to post bugs or problems.

Well, youtube doesn´t work anymore with this addon.

I would have sworn by this a while ago, but when I cannot see whatever page I want to be looking at because the addon has blocked everything, it is defeating the purpose. It gets turned off more than used currently.

No longer blocks YouTube ads.

This extension is pretty much IMPOSSIBLE to customize. You can't fine-tune how it filters a site (the list is there, but you can't actually het it to *CHANGE* the filtering). Try to whitelist a site? Npope, doesn't want to do that. Want to temporarily exclude a site from filtering? HA!!! Absolutely you can't do THAT. I'm giving up on this one, it makes the browser experience WORSE rather than better.

it creates problems with pages loading, makes pages sluggish and unpresponsive, when using this extension / add on, my firefox pages were loading slower than without it. perhaps im doing something ' wrong' - but i dont think so.....

Ublock Origin used to work very well. However, now,
Ublock Origin is causing my Firefox browser to crash. This needs to be fixed. I am using the latest update of Ublock Origin and Firefox is still crashing.
