a good portion of the video on the top and bottom is gone due to the zoom of this extension. It does go fullscreen but you lose video as a result.

If you don't mind that, it works! otherwise I'd like to see the whole video and it doesn't work well enough.

You can use Normal mode and then tweak Scale options to your needs. Leave some black bars and avoid distortion.
