Tested and works good on https://mbasic.facebook.com/ but not for https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/h/18clw8g8rdnwt/?& aka gmail basic html or maybe any gmail. But that is probably different issue with gmail, because I noticed firefox blocks first favicon in network requests, but not 2nd, and your extension's button is grayed out for this. But probably bug with accept header, when I change it from accept webp to png it works I think. Also I think Firefox a week ago fixed this issue so this extension is no longer needed. The bug I reported in bugzilla is fixed.

    I think the Page Actions menu was removed in Firefox 89 and I forgot about how that affected this extension. I just uploaded version 0.7 with the option to remove the button from the address bar and use one on the Extensions button drop-down instead.

    I was frustrated by the number of bookmarks in Firefox that appeared with the generic globe icon, an issue I never encountered in other browsers. Clearing the cache, removing and re-adding bookmarks, resetting the browser, changing privacy settings, deleting bookmark data in profile folders—none of the commonly recommended solutions worked. This tool fixed the problem instantly. Though it's important to note that it's not for websites that don't have a visible favicon to begin with.

    extension doesn't work in 1.10b of zen browser. since i cant unpin it from the urlbar. nor pin it to the tab toolbar. it doesn't let me popup the extension popup. i can only find the button when entering the change url mode via ctrl+L, but then pressing the button makes the urlbar disappear and the extension popup never appears.

    You or someone else might need to port the add-on from using a URL bar button to a regular button. It might be as simple as changing page_action to browser_action in the manifest.json file (https://github.com/jscher2000/cache-favicons-for-bookmarks-extension/blob/master/manifest.json) but I haven't tested it. (**EDIT** the "show_matches" key isn't supported for browser_action, so that would need to be removed.)

    THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS ADD-ON!!! I always seem to have a few random bookmarks that just have the empty globe icon and this fixes that! Extremely useful if you have bookmarks on your toolbar without labels. I've been wishing for this for years.

    On toggled, page refreshed, but bookmark favicon doesn't update

    Really handy. But it normally just works. So the icon in the URL bar is really annoying, it clutters the space and unlike the normal Addon icon it cant be hidden. Please change that! The addon is nessecary for normal usage.

    I think it's possible to provide the option of having either a regular toolbar button ("browser action") or an address bar button ("page action") but unfortunately, there's no way to move it, it would need to be changed through the Options page (after writing all the new code).
