Some of the best features of prior versions: intuitive interface; ability to add custom links to non-Google sites; flexibility in deciding where the pop-up appears; readily available admin button to adjust features.
Update 11/2017: Still terrible, no attempt to correct deficiencies. Earlier versions (see Google Shortcuts) permitted adding your own URLs. This is a waste of time

It is easily customizable and always conveniently available for instant navigation to whatever I need to use in the wide range of Google capabilities. There could be one or two minor improvements but these relate to selections within the drop-down selection box for all of Google's most important functions. I've been using it for about 10 years.

I only want about 5 choice apps in the main panels. Every update I have to go look for google voice AGAIN. Why cant it remember ?
