Use I still don't care about cookies instead

Don't bother with this and instead install "I still don't care about cookies"- a community driven and open-source version of this add-on which nowadays probably gathers your data.

Has been taken over/sold out to some company who only uses it to steal data and doesn't even maintain the software.
Because of a Firefox bug it's still being shown as recommended and checked by Mozilla in your add-on library, even though they removed that flag some time ago.

As other mentioned used to be FOS but now is in hands of a company that has had controversies surrounding privacy

In uBlockOrigin you can block "Cookie Notices" in the Filter list.
