Also, the 'Access your data for all websites' option is listed as optional, but it’s necessary for the program to work. I know you’ve been pretty transparent about how the data is used, but this does raise some concerns about data security as the company isn’t open-source.Wotmołwa wuwiwarja
je so kaksi kuukautta sitten napisałThank you for the feedback, we'll take it into consideration.
With a premium subscription on Windows, you do get access to your detection history; not exactly what you asked for, but maybe you'll find it useful.
"Access your data for all websites" is indeed a required permission, and I do understand your concern. On Firefox, we don't collect any data. Full privacy policy is here: https://www.malwarebytes.com/privacy/policy-for-browser-guard.
If you are technically inclined, you can see all the requests Browser Guard makes by doing the following:
1. Navigate to about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox
2. Next to Malwarebytes Browser Guard, click "Inspect"
3. Click "Network" in the new console that opens, from there you can see all network traffic Browser Guard is making. - Z 1 z 5 pohódnoćenywot GlennS, neljä kuukautta sitten

- Z 3 z 5 pohódnoćenywot Disaster Area, neljä kuukautta sittenThis add-on is pretty good and helps prevent malware from being downloaded, as well as helps to avoid unsafe websites. However, today it started causing a massive memory leak whenever I opened my browser. My memory utilisation goes from about 40% with the add-on off to staying at 100% with the add-on active and websites will barely load. Hopefully this is fixed soon and I can re-enable the add-on.

- Z 1 z 5 pohódnoćenywot grahamperrin, neljä kuukautta sittenBrowser performance (with many tabs) suffers terribly if both Malware and Scams are switched on in addition to Ads/Trackers. For Malware, and for Scams, global switches are terribly broken: after switching off globally at one tab, I find both features wrongly switched on globally at another tab. I'll gather debug logs and discuss in the forums.
Also, the release notes here at AMO are wildly inconsistent with the release notes at the Malwarebytes website.Wotmołwa wuwiwarja

The extension is interesting, but not fully optimized. There is a better extension. It probably takes up a lot of browser memory, I haven't checked it, but then I'll take a look at the time. - Z 5 z 5 pohódnoćenywot Skwurl, viisi kuukautta sitten
- Z 5 z 5 pohódnoćenywot Wužiwar Firefox 18892832, viisi kuukautta sittenWorks well for blocking spam and I've gotten a few warnings about certain sites. Some first time going and some I know to be legitimate, but that's how security goes. Still lets me go if I acknowledge the warning of course. The main issue is that some, though few, websites have loading issues. Mine specifically is my microsoft email through outlook/live.com When I go there I can't interact with much for a good 20 to 30 seconds. I've tried disabling the ad, spam and malware protections specifically for outlook/live.com email website and also disabling global protection of those features, but it still does the same. I specifically have to disable the "All protections" setting. So it seems like its still actively doing something even when i globally disable the 3 protections for all sites and only stops if I tick the option to disable all protections. I don't really care about that specifically, but just noting that seems to be why outlook/live email performance in the browser goes back to normally after disabling it. While I like the ad block feature enormously since it actually works, I don't want to disable the whole thing everytime i need to check my email so I'll just leave it off for now and circle back to it in a month or so to see if this issue is resolved with some kind of update. Been putting up with it for well over a year so its not a new thing. I just didn't think to leave a review about it until now. I would submit a report/ticket to malwares help center directly but it requires making an account and I just don't want yet another account. Hopefully they see this when checking reviews.
Edit: Actually it effects my google emails as well, just less so since the delay is one or two seconds I didn't notice as much though now that its instant its very noticable. The outlook one is basically instant when its disabled too just not as fast as google's email, but compared to the almost 30 second load time prior the difference is wild.
Edit2: March 30, 2025
I've updated to the 3.0.14 version and the huge delay in outlook email is gone! Bumping review to 5 stars since this removes the main issue I had with it.
Edit3: April 10, 2025
Updated to version 3.0.17 and a several seconds delay is happening now. Its a little better when I tell it to disable all protections for everything, but if I turn it off for only outlook then there is no difference so its still doing something again. If I disable the extention altogether then its based to instant speeds. Not sure what happened between the updates but its unfortunate. I'll try to install the 3.0.14 version and try to keep it from auto updating. Its also possible this is a firefox thing since it updates as well. So I'm not gonna just blame malwarebytes outright on this one.Wotmołwa wuwiwarja

Hi Diego,
Thanks for contacting Malwarebytes Customer Support!
My name is William and I will help you with ticket #4734637.
The Firefox extension and the Chrome extension need to be approved by different companies.
Firefox ix is sometimes very slow in approving new versions
Since Firefox is slow in approving new versions, there may be times when the versions between Firefox and Chrome will be different
Please be assured that as soon as Firefox approves the new version, it will be updated to the latest version
This is not a Malwarebytes issue, it is a Firefox issue.
my final Firefox version build are now 136.0.1 (64 bit) and Versione di Malwarebytes Browser Guard 2.6.27 are only update 11 Jun 2024.
So I really kindly ask you, so to approve their latest build version 3.0.14 that they released this March 2025 that has already been released for chrome and for Edge so you are the only one missing to approve their latest build of March 2025.
At this point I really kindly await your response to my request.
Best regards

je so viisi kuukautta sitten napisałHi Diego, this is Cameron from Malwarebytes. Unfortunately this review only goes to the Malwarebytes team, not the Firefox team.
I appreciate your support and your desire for the latest version!
v3.0.14 was submitted to Firefox about 5 days ago, in the past it takes about 7 days to approve (due to this being an add-on with a larger user base).
