this extension does not work i have installed all the necessary apps that it said to and still it does not work in Firefox 57

Even after a few updates to the native client and the extension, this doesn't do anything at all in 64-bit Firefox 57 for Windows.

Works fine on Firefox 57. Installing the native client is necessary because of the WebExtension format in Firefox. It is open source so harmless. Andy Portmen is very reactive on Github.

This extension works, but I've removed it. It opens a gaping hole in Firefox's security. The new node that is installed allows virtually any program on your computer to be run. It's not limited to IE.

I couldn't get this working initially, but it turned out that I had to set the path to IE's executable manually. Even though in the add-on's settings it says that the correct path (for Windows users) is automatically set if you don't manually type in a path, for me this didn't work. I had to manually set the path as the following: -

C:\Program Files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe

Once I'd done that, it started to work just fine.

I've knocked a star off because of the issue mentioned above and because of having to install an extra process to get this to work. While I get that the latter is a limitation of Firefox's new add-ons system, it's still off-putting from a security standpoint.

Many thanks to the developer for both this add-on and the "Open in Microsoft Edge" one, which worked fine without me having to set the path manually.

You need to install an additional application, this is not permissible here, so the extension is unusable on a restricted desktop.

Version 0.1.8 still failed to work. Using FF57

0.1.4 is working great, 0.1.8 seems to be broken (FF57b6)
