Installed this on firefox for Android (nightly), but it doesn't appear to work. It Lets me add a URL in the add-on settings, but doesn't change any behavior. When I add a few URLs, the space to add a new URL also disappears.

Hi,

I spent some time around these issues and found out the following

1. The popup doesn't appear to work - Apparently, firefox for android does not support much of the APIs needed by this extension. (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Add-ons/WebExtensions/manifest.json/browser_action#Browser_compatibility). I have created a bug in bugzilla to support this. (Link - https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1393911)

2. Let's me add URLs but doesn't change behaviour -
Only the "hostname" part of the URL is expected to be entered in the settings.
I was able to see links opened in a new tab in android for hackernews, reddit, twitter etc.,
You can use https://www.freeformatter.com/url-parser-query-string-splitter.html to get the hostname for a given URL.

3. When I add a few URLs, the space to add a new URL also disappears - This is a bug being worked on by mozilla and was fixed in firefox 57. Link - https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1386316

Since there is nothing much I can do here, I will add warnings for android users about the features missing in android in the addon's description.

    it does work, you have to turn it on for a website for it to work (which i like because some websites have a weird thing where you have to open the link on the page and its like a popup)

    2017 review: Works pretty well, except it seems for "stuff.co.nz" where it tends to open links in same tab most of the time, but sometimes does open in a new tab. Confused? So am I! Maybe a Firefox bug involved?
    Above is still the case in December 2021 [& Dec22] ... has this Add-on been abandoned by Ramkumar K R?

    This app "works only when it wants to" is the only way to describe my experience. Firefox 69.0.1 6 bit. It's very disappointing to search duckduckgo and have the link open in the same tab unless I go back and select the link again. This is a waste of time. I'm looking for an app that will work every time and will allow options on how tabs should open. BOTTOM LINE: This app isn't as advertised.

    Works pretty well exept on some Mozilla pages, author could explain how to use the extension a little better. Would get higher ratings if (s)he did so.

    Doesn't work with Firefox 63.0.3. New tabs still opened on the far right side.

    Didn't work, even when I moved the button for the specified site. Just tooo fiddly. Seems a no-brainer to me that all bookmarks should open in a new tab as standard. Who wants to leave a site you're on to look at another site, maybe for reference. Firefox note. Now I've learned to right click, job done.
