THANK YOU SO MUCH!
i simply can't believe that this extension is not more popular!
and thank you for being thoughtful enough to avoid using javascript for the case when javascript might be disabled... you are such an angel! - Z 5 z 5 pohódnoćenywot Ryan, 4 წლის წინWorks Well & Quickly. I appreciate that it restricts data access to downloaded events and associated history only as seems to be the case. Good Clean Coder. Thanks Brother

I use this add-on extensively; and its universal platform mentality is indeed very useful. I do however believe that two vital features would make it all the better. These are functions which many file-generating add-ons regularly provide:
1. It would greatly benefit from a capability to name the generated link files as our work may require. I particularly object to its prefixing "link-to-" to regular web page titles, because my research processes regularly save the page and an image of the page to the same target directory, and the aberrant "link-to-" prefixed names force me to use other tools afterward, to remove the "link-to-" prefixes, in order to keep or list like work together in the parent folder. Generally, I use a file renaming utility to do this, once significant link-to-prefixed link files accumulate in a given target directory.
2. The other feature I think this add-on needs is the routine ability to specify a target directory. This too is a requisite capacity for file-generating add-ons.
These two reservations aside... the add-on is an excellent addition to Firefox that is both convenient and 100-percent reliable to use.
I hope the author will see fit to incorporate such features in the future, because "Save a link to the current tab" is a five-star add-on if it resolves these shortcomings.
__________
I might say two further things:
3. Better yet, it might be all the more ideal if Mozilla/Firefox provided this functionality to potential add-ons, in a programming object and respective visual controls that would both a) streamline this process for all prospective developers, and, b) provide one, universal interface for these customary functions... further providing uniform familiarity to end users.
4. Alternatively, Firefox itself might provide a prevailing Focused Target Directory... which all add-ons could alternately obey. A global Firefox setting might invoke this behavior, with each add-on having a an Obey Focused Target Directory option... so that certain add-ons might persist instead in generating material always in specific target directories. - Z 5 z 5 pohódnoćenywot Goeroeboeroe, 6 წლის წინThis is without any doubt the most ingenious use of 'refresh' I ever saw. (And I've been building sites from the beginning.)
This extension is so simple it's brilliant. Because it's so simple, nothing can go wrong.
Until a few years ago there was an extension to make a simple link on a Linux computer. That didn't work anymore. This extension is even more brilliant.Wotmołwa wuwiwarja

I'd only add the ability to customize the name of the HTML file.

Currently you can hand-edit the filename, but if you'd like to elaborate more on how you'd like to customize it, feel free to drop me an email or open an issue here: https://github.com/nbeaver/save_link_webextension/issues - Z 2 z 5 pohódnoćenywot JFuller69, 6 წლის წინv0.1.2 Works on FF54 x64 e10/Multi-process, BUT..
