Dear user, this addon has been superseded by a much more versatile version: SearXNG 4all.

Why should you switch?

🎛 Highly Configurable: Use YOUR own SearXNG instance, whether it's local (e.g., localhost:9090) or remote (e.g., https://searx.ox2.fr/).

🔧 Active Maintenance: All future updates and bug fixes will be made to the new addon.

How to migrate? It's easy:

Install the new addon: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searxng-4all/

Configure it with your SearXNG instance's URL (e.g., http://127.0.0.1:9090 for local, or the URL of the instance you use).

Uninstall this old addon.

Description of this OLD addon :

For a local installation of SearXNG on port 9090.

Mine was installed on Docker with this command :
docker run --restart=always -d -p 9090:8080 -v "./searxng:/etc/searxng:rw" -e "BASE_URL=http://localhost:9090/" -e "INSTANCE_NAME=SearXNG" --name SearXNG searxng/searxng
