Feels more like "Simple Tab Workspaces" to be honest, but turns out that's just what I needed. It's a powerful and polished extension; there are fully-fledged browsers trying to implement workspaces and still lagging behind STG. That said, it might not have the most intuitive learning curve for some.

Not simple at all and is buggy as hell. I keep losing tabs, the add-on keeps deleting or hiding all tabs when opening groups, or just closes Firefox totally resulting in the loss of all opened tabs. Many desired features are missing. How can this be the top-rated Group add-on is beyond me.

This extension is the reason I cannot leave firefox and move to chromium based browser

I have used this extension for years and it was too good, but currently it loses all saved tabs on every Firefox restart and won't let me get them since the last backup, it became unusable.
(Arch Linux, Firefox 132.0)

Working well up until the most recent version of Firefox. Not even restoring a backup works now.

EDIT. For those having similar issues. I think the trick is to open about:config and set closeWindowWithLastTab to false.

I like the concept of this add-on, although there are many moving parts; But, they are still flawed.

Last time I tried it, it left multiple bookmarks in my bookmarks folders, so this time I didn't enable any of the bookmarking features.

Without bookmarking it appeared to lose my open, organized, and appropriately containerized tabs on a few occasions. I'm ultimately opting to uninstall it again.

Incredibly useful!!

Used this extension for ~2 years, found it to be essentially OK, not perfect but got the job done through some unintuitive means.

But a couple of times upon closing firefox all of my tab groups were simply emptied. (Might be due to ending firefox with task manager? But mostly didn't notice the issue till a day or so later so can't confirm).

Usually had some pretty recent backups but still very very annoying. Then today the same issue happened, and it turns out inexplicably my last backup was over a month ago and I lost almost a hundred saved tabs.

Cannot recommend this extension in its current state.

If you asked me last week I would have given it five stars, for some reason it has decided to not save my tabs when I close firefox, I cant find a solution.

Good job, but there are some bugs. Entering Simple Tab Groups Settings removes some tabs, which is a big issue. The dev keeps updating it, so hopefully it gets fixed someday. Thanks!

Great extension. I like to organize my tabs around subjects (Gaming, School, Personal, etc.) using this extension. With the added option to unload tabs from memory while not in use, this can make having dozens of tabs open more efficient and more practical.

would love if we could sign in to this extension and have groups sync across devices like a proper workspace

I've been using this addon for years. It's been great, but recently the feature to close tabs when switching groups to save RAM was removed from the settings. This feature was perhaps my favorite feature of this addon - if it were brought back, I'd give it five stars.
