Privacy Policy for SpellBolt
SpellBolt is a Chrome extension designed to enhance your browsing and writing experience by providing powerful, real-time spellchecking directly within web pages.
SpellBolt is built on open-source technologies and operates entirely on your local device. We respect your privacy — by design.
Data Collection and Use
SpellBolt does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal or non-personal user data.
All spellchecking actions — including typo detection, suggestion generation, and corrections — occur locally within your browser. There are no remote servers involved in any part of the core functionality.
Your browsing content, typed text, page data, and corrections are processed solely on your machine and never sent over the internet by SpellBolt.
Third-Party Access
SpellBolt does not provide access to your data to any third parties. Because SpellBolt does not collect or transmit any information, there is no data available to be shared, stored, sold, or analyzed.
You are always in control.
Security
Because SpellBolt operates fully on-device and does not transmit any data externally, the risk of data exposure through the extension is effectively eliminated.
SpellBolt modifies your browser's displayed content only temporarily, in real time, within your browser session memory.
Open Source Commitment
SpellBolt is built using open-source components such as Harper.js, and maintains a strong commitment to transparency and user empowerment.
Wherever possible, critical parts of our extension logic are open-source and available for community inspection and improvement.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated in the future, especially if new features are introduced that would impact how data is processed.
If significant changes are made, we will update the policy here and provide notice within the extension where appropriate.
