Without this extension, viewing my favoured weather site (full of animated gifs) made my computer sound like an F35 taking off due to the cooling fan spooling up; with it enabled quiet calm is restored.

Just installed it and it seems to work perfectly.

Didn't work at all. The "freeze animation" button comes up in the context menu, but does nothing even when I refresh the page. Also, it would be great if there was an option to just block all gifs automatically instead of having to toggle individual ones.

Doesn't work. Changed settings to make it as aggressively block gifs as possible, and it does nothing.

The toolbar button doesn't work. Nothing happens when you click it. If you enable the option to add "Freeze Animation" to the context menu then you can right click the animation and disable it that way. But it only works on one animation so if you're on a page with multiple animations/gifs then you would have to disable each one by one which is tedious.

I want something that will disable all animations on the page with one click.

Edit: so the toolbar button does work but it doesn't stop the animations instantly. After you click the button you have to refresh the page. Similar addons didn't require this. And the Freeze Animation command stops the animation instantly so why do you need to reload the page? That's kinda annoying.

Works perfectly on Firefox. Hoping a version for the chromium universe.

It works! All add-on developers should use this one as gold standard.
I have no idea what would I have done if not for this zero-maintenance addon. It makes Internet tolerable by stopping annoying animations, and it does so unobtrusively.
