best addon to put an image onto new tab background ... however I often quickly open a new tab and immediately paste into URL bar yet this addon inadvertently moves the cursor location away from URL bar so that smooth action requires an extra click to put the new tab cursor into the URL bar - please fix

It does change the background but it shouldn't be limited to 2MB, I use a big screen and I can't set images of my choice since all are PNG or JPEG and over 6MB, once this annoying limitation is removed, I will raise the score to 4.5, 5 will require to not use white colors everywhere and not adding tracking elements like weather.

Is it possible to manage the amount of columns ?
