The perfect dark mode addon for Docs

this is a lovely addon, thank you for giving us an option that works without modifying existing document formatting/text colors! i think the only thing i'd critique is that there isn't an option to use the original document's background color, and that can be easily remedied by just copy/pasting the hex code.

would you consider / are you planning on doing something similar or adding compatibility with google sheets? it would be much appreciated if so, but honestly even this by itself is a life saver!

Hiii, I love this add-on, it's the best one for Dark Mode in google docs that exists, but I'm writing this to let you know that in the newest version (as of writing, 0.6.1), there's a glitch where the top bar of the document (where the title and dropdowns such as File, Edit, View, etc are) does not go dark like the rest of the page. I have a screenshot of this glitch but can't seem to attach it, if you'd like to take a look at it. I've tried closing and reopening the doc, turning the extension off and on again, and even uninstalling/reinstalling it, and it persists. 5 stars otherwise, since I'm sure this will be fixed soon, and it's not like it inhibits my writing, it's just a little distracting.

After starting to use this add-on, I realized it was the best dark mode for docs bar none. When a recent update damaged its usefulness, the developer quickly fixed it, even though they are just a student as per their website. That level of care and dedication to what may seem like a small feature (but is in no way small for me, it has increased my productivity by leaps and bounds) motivated me to finally leave a review for this fantastic add-on.

After posting a review about how an update broke a core feature of the Addon, the developer responded with a hotfix update within 12 hours of my posting the review, and responded. They also responded to two other people who had a similar issue. Excellent dev response, and a great addon with many options that now works again.

The fix implemented for Google Docs' recent interface change no longer works to change the page colour.

Edit: Thanks for the response! The update seems to have fixed the issue, and this is back to being one of the most useful add-ons in the entire catalogue.

I've been loving this so far, but recently the "Invert" option changed so now every time I try to invert the text it just changes the entire page to white :(

It used to be really good. Now google changed their to bar and it appears white. Hopefully this can be changed soon.

You''re literally amazing for this extension and it works beautifully

Easy to use and works like a charm. Only thing it's missing is a way to easily adjust text colours, but that's built into Google Docs anyway so not really an issue. Ridiculous that Gdocs doesn't offer a dark mode natively but as long as that's the case, this plugin fills the gap nicely.

Simply does not function. Has full permissions for docs.google.com, yet the addon says "Can't read and change data for this site". No changes happen regardless of what darkness setting I use. Other addons work fine.
