Thanks! The "Preferred ProtonMail domain" only works when the extension doesn't detect any active sessions, otherwise it just uses the domain on which you logged in.
You can try closing all the ProtonMail tabs and clearing the sessions in the extension, then it should open the beta domain (but you will have to login again).
