Trump Eraser just got a major performance upgrade!

We rebuilt our page-scanning engine from the ground up so it now plays nicely with even the busiest sites — looking at you, Facebook 👀. Replacements happen just as thoroughly as before, but they’re now smarter, lighter, and faster than ever.

If you noticed a “click-and-wait” delay on the Facebook post composer, whoops - that was our fault, sorry! The dialog now opens quickly while Trump Eraser waits its turn politely in the background.

This one’s all about polish and reliability. We chased down a few pesky edge cases and gave the replacement engine a tune-up across all browsers.

• Nickname Packs – Introducing themed nickname collections you can load with one click.
Choose from curated nickname collections via the new dropdown above the editor. Some packs
include a link to an expanded list on our website with additional, sometimes edgier options—
copy/paste any you like into Bulk Editor.

• The Trump Eraser Hall of Flame Essentials Pack (new pack) – A greatest-hits starter from our Hall of
Flame—ready in one click. Want more options and spicier choices? Follow the pack’s Expanded List
link on our site, then copy/paste your favorites into Bulk Editor; we make it easy!

Improvements
• Validation Enhancements – Nicknames containing “Trump” or “TRUMP” are no longer allowed,
preventing recursive replacements.

• Bulk Editor Messaging – Validation messages now display inline below the editor, matching
the Legacy Editor style. The Legacy Editor now highlights entries with errors.

• General Format and Content Improvements –
o Small alignment fixes, cleaner spacing, and improved visual feedback—especially for
dropdown behavior and messaging.
o Updates and additions to our FAQs.

Fixes
• Facebook Prompt Issue – We fixed an issue where the text prompt in Facebook’s composer
could be rewritten. The extension now recognizes Facebook’s dialog editor and leaves its
prompt/placeholder alone.

This release addresses a bug noticed by our testers.

Problem: Some Facebook Reels pages could crash or show “Out of Memory” due to excessive content changes interacting with the extension.

Solution: Trump Eraser no longer runs on Facebook Reels pages.

Impact: Negligible — the extension still works normally everywhere else, and Reels pages don't contain much in the way of text.

Dismissible message card on the Options page for helpful tips (e.g., review requests). Fully offline, and it disappears once you dismiss it.

Improvements
Smarter editor detection: no replacements while you type, paste, or undo in modern editors (Facebook/Instagram/Threads, etc.).

Placeholders/composer prompts are left untouched.

Options page polish + accessibility tweaks; message card matches the Welcome card styling.

Trump Eraser v2.4.2

What’s Fixed:

🛠 No more editing glitches: Trump Eraser will no longer replace text while you’re typing in posts, comments, or rich-text editors.

🧑‍🦽 Accessibility safe: We stopped touching certain screen-reader attributes (aria-describedby) to avoid breaking assistive technologies.

🎯 Tooltip polish: Added support for data-original-title (used by some sites’ tooltips) so replacements stay consistent everywhere.
