I'm running Windows 7 as 64 bit and followed the instructions from crazycheese (tx for the thought) he tried in Linux.
Result: when restarting firefox the uBlock Origin xpi file got removed ... including a savecopy I created (just renamed the original file to *.old).
Interesting enough, the deleted files are not in the system trash. A new installation is not possible. For more, uBlock origin is also not appearing any longer in the add on list. Means to me that it got removed.
Hence please be careful when following the steps under windows ...

- Works great. Occasionally uBO will be detected by a site and you have to put up with ads for a bit (currently happening to me on crazygames) but usually if you wait for a week or so it will be fixed. Definitely worth downloading, it is updated regularly and problems (once reported) are resolved pretty quickly. The reporting process is a nightmare though..way too complicated to figure out what goes where and jump through all the hoops to report a problem.

- One of the essential addons both for privacy/anonymity and to shield yourself against malicious websites, tracking, ads, junk and trash which sadly the internet today is full of. If i could have only 1 plugin, this is probably the one i would install and its in fact one of the main reasons i use firefox since this also runs on firefox on android. 5/5 stars (ofcourse)
