It doesn't skip ads, but mutes the sound, but the actual track doesn't play. The playlist simply stops at the ad.

Some things may have been broken in the last version because of changes in the Spotify UI, could you try again and see if the new version works better for you? Otherwise, please feel free to file a detailed bug report at https://github.com/Spot-SponsorBlock/Spot-SponsorBlock-Extension/issues
