The extension does not save the selected language preferences, and when copying and pasting from the translation pane, all line breaks in the translated text are lost.

For this extension to be useful DeepL really needs to allow full webpage translations for free or for a cheaper tier. Right now its close to $100/yr for access to full website translations. For now all you can do is select sections of text and translate. The translation process is slower than other options that are available. It does really well with longer form text but can struggle with shorter texts, names, titles, idioms, etc.

Overall from the perspective of someone who is only interested in translating websites for personal web browsing this extension does not provide much functionality beyond the translation website.

It could be good, but it is sooo freaking stupid. You can't turn off write mode. It is not even working for my language, but I just can't turn off.

All I want is 1 small icon when I select a word or text to TRANSLATE, nothing else, but it has to be 3 icons, a Read a Write and a Turn OFF button.
It doesnt matter if I turn off Write icon in settings, it still shows up, and not even an option to turn off the "turn off" button. WHY?

Overall, it works great. Sometimes it just cannot load a translation, which is annoying, but it's not common. What I really hate, is that it still doesn't support dark theme! Please add dark theme...

Constantly breaks webpages, needs to be disabled. Support refuses to look into bug reports, despite multiple attempts. Locks random JS globals that break functionality and at times outright crash websites.

The translator may be good, but this extension is completely unusable, and has been for a number of years now.

Largely useless compared to the actual DeepL website or even Google Translate. Lacks QOL functionalities (can't even invert the language selection in one click) and is buggy (kept reverting to Indonesian every few minutes despite me never using that language).

Unlike Google Translate, the free version is largely useless. Only individual selected sections can be translated; you need a Pro account to translate entire websites. Not worth it.

Well, it works. There are some settings to customize the thing.

I want the previous specification, where you could get translation results with a single click, to be restored as soon as possible.
The right-click menu has been changed to a deeper hierarchy, increasing the number of clicks required.
When you select text and right-click, “Translate web page” is grayed out, so isn't it unnecessary in the first place?

An excellent addition for translating text. I like that it also adapts it and recognizes slang (although not always).
But I would like to give users more customization options. Personally, I only use the translation feature, and the Write feature for improving text is useless to me. I would like to be able to disable it in the pop-up widget, just like the Disable button, leaving only Translation.
