This video download extension actually works. (June 2026)
As we all know video sites keep changing the back-end code to block remote downloads but GetVid is on it and they update as they tweak a fix. After a couple of try-outs on the free version I joined permanently. I like that they have a one-off lifetime payment option.

The feedback button on the bottom of the float window actually links to a feedback form, and they respond.

Recommend giving this a test-run. I'm happy to have found a downloader that works on many sites, including YT. ♡

I can’t understand that all positives reviews. It asks to have premium account to full use it ,otherwise only 15 minutes of video are allowed.

I am genuinely confused as to where all these positive reviews are coming from?
It lets you choose guest mode if you don't want to create an account with them but does not let you do anything without first logging in.

Once you actually log in, the interface that was detecting the videos and giving you the option to download them disappears with the only things being present being the premium plan.

Just another case of wasting people's time by presenting an extension that does nothing without the premium plan which only becomes obvious once you've gone through the hassle of setting it all up.

For me, GetfVid is the best video downloader I've ever used. I can even download videos from Instagram, which was really difficult for me before. I definitely recommend this plugin!
